ATTENTION. Range Closed 2/23 - 2/27 for Berm Construction. ATTENTION
Covered Main Firing Line: The main line is a covered concrete pad running east to west on the north end of the range. The left end of the main firing line features a slightly elevated platform to facilitate shooting at the furthest berms without obstruction from those closer to the line.
The main firing line is used for Metallic Silhouette and other target shooting to all target berms from 25m to 500m (with the exception of the 500yd target pits). All rounds must travel downrange in a roughly Southerly direction. Firing at berms on the right side of the range must be done from firing points on the right side of the firing line. Similarly, rounds fired at berms on the left side of the range must be fired from firing points on the left side of the firing line. Firing across the range (trajectories that could send rounds out the East or West sides of the range are prohibited).
"Mt. Bubba": An elevated, covered, concrete firing line running east to west on the East side of the North end of the range. This line provides unobstructed trajectories to the 500yd target pits, and is used for all F-Class matches. Shooters firing from Mt. Bubba may also engage targets positioned on either the 100m, 385m, or 500m berms only.
Uncovered Firing Lines: Additional firing lines are available midrange. These are positioned to the East side of the midline, and are found at roughly 200m and 300m from the main firing line. Match Directors can elect to use these firing lines for short range events with targets positioned on either the 385m or 500m target berms, or the 500yd target pits.
Target Berms: Berms are provided at 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300, 385, and 500m distances. Although minimal steel targets may be present, members are required to bring and place their own targets and target frames. Members may bring and use their own steel targets as long as those targets are used safely. Targets (paper or steel) must be positioned so that bullets passing through or deflecting off of them (including spall from impacts against steel targets) will be absorbed by the berm behind them.
Target Pits: CTSA provides a protected target pits featuring 10 railed target carriers. Targets are affixed to frames which are then mounted into the carriers. Competitors assigned to pit duty can raise the targets above the top of the berm to allow shooters to see them, and then lower the targets for scoring/repair between rounds. Pit crews are protected from fire by concrete walls and an earthen berm. Electronic target sensors (ShotMarker) have been added to target frames so that Match Directors may conduct matches without anyone physically pulling targets.
